Evidence-Based Diabetes Support
Patients who participate in DSMES classes show improved health outcomes. Evidence from randomized clinical trials and observational studies suggests that DSME may reduce blood pressure, A1C levels, and cholesterol. These are all important markers for diabetes and can significantly reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.
DSMES has also shown improvements in quality of life, eating habits, and diabetes complication risks. Some participants need fewer hospitalizations related to their diabetes. This, in turn, reduces healthcare costs and improves the quality of life of patients struggling with the symptoms of diabetes.
